Bold Match Journal

Editorial policy

Bold Match Journal aims to explain football clearly and fairly. We distinguish established concepts from interpretation, check factual claims before publication and correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.

Accuracy and context

We review names, terminology and factual details before publication. Tactical explanations are written with context: a formation label alone cannot describe every movement, and the same idea can look different from one match to another. When a point depends on interpretation, we make that clear rather than presenting it as settled fact.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for the reader's understanding of football, not to favour a club, competition, product or partner. A partnership does not buy influence over independent editorial coverage. We do not invent access, expertise, observations or sources.

Corrections

If you spot a material error or an explanation that needs clarification, contact us through the Contact page and identify the relevant article and passage. We assess corrections carefully and update published text when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers where appropriate.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported material is identified clearly as partner content and kept distinct from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where used, they are identified as AI-generated and are not presented as photographs of real match events.
